Kate's Critter Care is a professional dog walking and pet sitting service providing exemplary and affordable in-home care to its animal clients in SW Durham.

Kate's Critter Care is owned and operated by 34-year-old Kate Turlington, who has lived with and loved animals all her life. Kate grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, and graduated from NC State University in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in Spanish. She spent the following eight years working full-time in the field of animal advocacy and protection, working for a variety of non-profit organizations in positions including animal shelter adoptions counselor, undercover cruelty investigator, and organization wide manager of investigations.

Kate began moonlighting as a pet sitter in 2003 and, within several years, gained the privilege of being a full-time, professional pet sitter and business owner, receiving tremendous satisfaction from providing her clients' animals with exemplary care. The demand for Kate’s unparalleled pet sitting services eventually became so great that Kate fulfilled the need to develop a small, carefully-selected team of highly qualified professional pet sitters who share her exceptionally high standards for animal care and customer service. With the steadfast dedication of her trusted team, Kate is able to serve a greater number of clients and ensure that even more animals receive truly loving care.
Kate lives in SW Durham with her family, consisting of her husband (a Triangle area university professor), her 12-year-old stepson (a superstar athlete), and four rescued companion animals. Her canine kids are Begonia, an exceptionally small Sheltie, and Marvin, a goofy Mutt. Kate’s feline girls are Tallie, a monkey of a Tortie, and Mari, an affectionate Orange and White Tabby. Kate’s animals are an integral part of her family, so she fully understands and appreciates how invaluable it is to have a reliable, trustworthy, and conscientious pet sitter to care for your animals in your absence.
